VIBRA

VIBRA is a music project by JP Coimbra in which architecture becomes an active musical instrument. Instead of recording in a traditional studio, the composer created and captured the album inside emblematic public and architectural spaces in Porto  including Casa da Música, the Marquês metro station, the subterranean Rio de Vila and other acoustically distinctive environments.

Each space shaped the compositions through its materials, geometry and reverberation. The result is a body of work where sound is inseparable from place – a series of sonic portraits that reveal how architecture can influence rhythm, harmony and emotional atmosphere.

Directed by Vasco Mendes, the documentary follows the creative and recording process, exploring the dialogue between music and space.
